Numerous sailings are being cancelled by BC Ferries, or are at risk of being cancelled after a weather warning was issued by Environment Canada.
Specifically, the regions impacted by this adverse weather and the subsequent cancellations are Haida Gwaii, the northern coast, central coast and northern Vancouver Island areas.
High winds are expected to be the factor that impacts these sailings, according to Environment Canada.
The remnants of Typhoon Pulasan are approaching in the form of an intense low pressure system that will bring strong winds on the afternoon of Thursday, September 26th and Friday, September 27th.
Winds are expected to get up to 90 km/h, gusting to 120 km/h.
“We know you have important places to be,” said BC Ferries in their service notice.
“We will monitor the weather conditions and we will share updates with you as further information becomes available.”
