A Port Alberni man was transported to a Victoria hospital after being stabbed multiple times earlier this week.
On July 30th, at around 9 a.m., Port Alberni RCMP responded to a report of a stabbing in the 3600 block of McIntyre Drive.
Upon arrival, police found a man sufferings from multiple stab wounds. Emergency services, including the Port Alberni Fire Department (PAFD), administered first aid until paramedics arrived.
The victim was then airlifted to a hospital in Victoria for urgent medical treatment.
RCMP officers gathered statements and reviewed CCTV footage from the area.
They also deployed a police dog to help locate two male suspects who fled the scene on foot. Witnesses reported seeing them running west towards Wood Avenue near Redford Street.
While the suspects have been identified, they are still at large. RCMP has stated that they do not believe there is a threat to the public.
