Check out opening night for a powerful documentary, lounge at a lovely winery, catch an outdoor film with family and more.

If you’re in the mood for music, St. Matthias Anglican Church is hosting a dance and the classic Fridays at the Station in Langford will have live music!

Any Other Way: The Jackie Shane Story

Don’t miss opening night for Michael Mabbott and Lucah Rosenberg-Lee’s award-winning Banger Films/National Film Board of Canada (NFB) feature documentary Any Other Way: The Jackie Shane Story.

The film follows a legendary pioneer in music, Jackie Shane, who was a black transgender performer who rose to prominence in Toronto.

A made-in-Canada documentary co-produced by trans actor Elliot Page, and using rotoscope animation to bring Jackie Shane’s story into the spotlight, this film brings Shane the recognition she deserves in a beautiful way.

Tickets are just over $13!

Free-B Film Festival

This community-favourite film festival has been bringing a huge lineup of free outdoor movies to Beacon Hill Park!

The Free-B Film Festival features a mix of classics and cult classics—all you have to do is bring a blanket and some snacks.

This Friday will feature Stand By Me.

As mentioned, there is no cost to enjoy the movie, admission is free.  Just make sure you pack out what you bring!

Fiddle Dance

St. Matthias Anglican Church is hosting a family-friendly Fiddle Dance for everyone in search of a wholesome night out!

It’ll be a casual barn-style dance night, with no dancing experience required. All of the steps will be taught.

Entry is by donation, with a suggested amount of $10.

Tasting at Neighbourly Wine Co.

Lounge at Neighbourly Wine Co., a charming winery that’s tucked in a forested oasis and offers a wide variety of wines.

With the eight different grape varietals grown, they produce and serve an abundance of white, reds and rose wines—all of which are unique and showcase the Vancouver Island terroir.

You can opt to enjoy their wine inside our outside on their luscious backyard garden patio.

Fridays at the Station

The Victoria Beer Society is once again hosting their popular Fridays at the Station event in Langford!

Ring in the weekend at The Langford Station by enjoying live music, a selection of delicious food trucks, browsing local businesses and artist studios, and of course flights of delicious BC craft beer.

The Victoria Beer Society’s Beer Truck will be on site serving cold sleeves and flights of craft beer every Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

This Friday’s featured band is the Dylan Stone Trio!
