Just shy of one week after West Shore RCMP released video footage of two individuals spray painting a Pride crosswalk in Langford, police say they have now identified both suspects.
The incident occurred on the crosswalk directly in front of Spencer Middle School.
According to police, the crosswalk was cleaned promptly by City of Langford staff.
West Shore RCMP say the graffiti displayed profanity and the incident is being investigated as mischief.
Initially, police released a second video which showed a second occurrence of vandalism to the same crosswalk, just one day before the incident in which the two individuals defaced the crosswalk.
West Shore RCMP now believe that the lone vandal was also one of the two suspects who acted together in the second act of graffiti.
The 22-year-old suspect in both videos has since turned themselves in and has been charged with two counts of mischief. He has since been released with several conditions including not to attend any School District 62 property.
Police say they have also identified the second suspect, however he has not yet been located.
The videos have since been taken down and West shore RCMP say their investigation will continue.
