Here’s where you can catch outdoor movies in and around Victoria this summer

Ready your popcorn and other goodies!

Summer is spectacular for many things—with the warmth, longer daylight hours, abundance of fun activities every day and more, it’s no wonder spirits are higher.

Add to your summer giddy by participating in another ultimate seasonal activity: outdoor movies!

To make things quick and easy, we’ve compiled a list of outdoor movies happening in and around Victoria this summer:

Outdoor Movie Series

There’s an incredible lineup of movies screening at Bullen Park and Esquimalt Gorge Park through Esquimalt’s Outdoor Movie Series this August!

The full list is as follows:

  • Wednesday, August 7th: Raya & the Last Dragon at Bullen Park
  • Wednesday, August 14th: Cruella at Esquimalt Gorge Park
  • Wednesday, August 21st: Onward at Bullen Park
  • Wednesday, August 28th: Jumanji at Esquimalt Gorge Park

All of the films start at 8:45 p.m. or dusk!

Country Crepes will be present as well, serving up some delicious goods.

    • Esquimalt Gorge Park, 1070 Tillicum Road, Esquimalt
  • When: Every Wednesday throughout the month of August—movies start at 8:45 p.m.

Free-B Film Festival

This community-favourite film festival will once again bring a huge lineup of free outdoor movies to Beacon Hill Park!

The Free-B Film Festival features a mix of classics and cult classics—all you have to do is bring a blanket and some snacks.

As mentioned, there is no cost to enjoy the movie, admission is free.  Just make sure you pack out what you bring!

Here’s the full list of showings:

  • Friday, August 9th: Godzilla vs. Space Godzilla
  • Saturday, August 10th: The Breakfast Club
  • Friday, August 16th: Stand By Me
  • Saturday, August 17th: The Last Unicorn
  • Friday, August 23rd: Down With Love
  • Saturday, August 24th: Plan 9 From Outer Space

All showings start at 9 p.m.!

  • Where: Cameron Bandshell in Beacon Hill Park, 250 Bridge Way
  • When: Fridays and Saturdays throughout the month of August—movies start at 9 p.m.

Saanichton Free Movies

The Saanichton Village Association is hosting two free movie screenings in the month of August, and everyone’s invited.

They’ll be held at Saanich Fairgrounds, and the schedule is as follows:

  • Saturday, August 17th: Back to the Future 
  • Saturday, August 24th: Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle

Gates open at 6 p.m. and the movie will start at dusk!

In the meantime, there will be games to enjoy, as well as popcorn, food and cold drinks available for purchase.

Don’t forget your blankets and/or chairs for the best movie-watching experience!
