Youth suspect arrested after multiple Vic High students attacked with bear spray

VicPD have arrested a youth suspect following a bear spray attack on a small group of Vic High students. 

A School District 61 (SD61) spokesperson told Victoria Buzz that on Monday, June 10th around 1 p.m., a class went off school grounds within the Fernwood community. 

VicPD say the attack took place near the intersection of Grant Street and Fernwood Avenue. 

According to police, three students were attacked.

Shortly after the attack, patrol officers arrested a suspect who is also a youth. Police did not confirm or deny whether this youth is also a student at Vic High. 

The youth suspect was then released, pending a future court date. 

VicPD say that this incident is still under investigation, and as such, they are unable to provide any further details. 

No charges have been sworn at this time. 

The three students who were attacked only required minor medical attention, according to SD61.
