Premier David Eby and his wife, Cailey Lynch welcomed their third child into the world and announced the successful birth on Thursday, June 27th.
The newborn, Gwendolyn Kay Eby, was born at nine pounds 11 ounces and Eby says she was born “happy and healthy.”
Gwendolyn is their second daughter and will be a new sister to Eby’s other two children, Ezra and Iva.
“Gwen’s name comes from Great Grandma, long time Victoria resident, born on the prairies,” Ebay wrote in a social media post.
“Thanks to our obstetrics team, the great nursing and hospital staff for all your amazing work.”
The latest session of parliament in the BC legislature ended in May, but now Eby must start preparing for his pre-election campaign.
Technically, the pre-election campaigning cannot start until July 23rd.
