BC Transit to offer free trips to graduating highschool students in June

Once again, BC Transit will be offering free transit trips for graduating high school students.

The popular GradPASS program allows Grade 12 students throughout Greater Victoria to ride the bus for free on any two days during June.

Graduates can choose which days they would like to use, and the days do not have to be consecutive.

GradPASS is just over thirty years old, first introduced in Vancouver in 1988 and then in Victoria in 1990.

The passes will be distributed to students through participating schools in late May.

Graduates can then scratch off their two chosen travel days and present the card with valid student ID when boarding.

“To use a GradPASS, students simply scratch off their two chosen travel days, which do not have to be consecutive,” says a news release from BC Transit.

“When boarding the bus, they present the card along with a valid student ID to the driver.”

More information about GradPASS is available on the BC Transit website.
