This Wednesday brings us a mix of sport and/or creative expression—including catching an NHL game at a local pub, immersing yourself in a powerful live performance, or learning a new dance.

Plus, there’s a beer and food event happening in Metchosin if you fancy a little drive!

A Dictionary of Emotions in War Time

Immerse yourself in a powerful, up-close story regarding the Ukrainian/Russian conflict, hosted by the Help Ukraine Vancouver Island organization.

It will be showing at Metro Studio Theatre until Saturday, May 11th.

Canucks vs. Oilers at James Bay Inn Pub

The James Bay Inn Pub is hosting the upcoming Canucks vs. Oilers hockey game and you’re invited!

The sound will be up and pints of beer will be on for $5.75—plus, their usual food menu will be available too.

Bring your pals and cheer on your favourite team together!

Five Women Wearing the Same Dress at Langham Court Theatre

Alan Ball’s hilarious comedy, Five Women Wearing the Same Dress is set to come to life on the Langham Court Theatre stage from Wednesday, May 8th to Sunday, May 19th!

The story follows five very different bridesmaids who find themselves hiding together in an upstairs bedroom, hoping to escape the wedding reception and the bride—who they all realize no one really likes.

Beer and Food Tasting Event in Metchosin

If you’re up for a bit of a drive, Hide N Seek and Mile Zero Brewing have collaborated on their first-ever beer and food tasting event!

They have chosen four specific beers to complement four Asian-style bites. You can enjoy an individual tapa for $8 or get a full food flight for $20.

Their current menu contains braised pork belly with house made kimchi, chicken katsu, sashimi and pickled local Metchosin/Sooke veggies.

Beer flights are priced at $12.

Free Tango Intro Class

If you or someone you know is interested in Argentine tango, World Accordion and Tango Festival are offering a free intro class!

It’s taught by Grazyna and Kelly from Alive Tango Victoria.

It’s open to anyone, no partner or experience necessary! Just wear something you can pivot in (socks are fine) and register.
