Oceanside RCMP are currently investigating a serious motor vehicle incident that occurred on Highway 19A just north of Qualicum Beach in the early morning hours today.
According to the RCMP, the incident, which occurred at 2:55 a.m. on March 2nd, involved a female driver veering off the road and colliding with a pole, possibly due to weather conditions.
A male bystander stopped to render assistance, and while both individuals were standing on the side of the roadway, a third vehicle collided with the woman’s car, injuring both of them.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene and transported all three individuals to the hospital.
The male bystander sustained serious, life-threatening injuries. The driver of the third vehicle is currently under investigation for impaired driving.
