Starbucks names Victoria shop as one of its most romantic locations in Canada

In every city, you’re likely to find a Starbucks on almost every corner—but not many can say they’re the most romantic!

With Valentine’s Day around the corner, a new survey by Starbucks Canada highlighted its top romantic locations from coast to coast.

First dates can be awkward, and when picking a location for the initial encounter, the survey revealed that cafes/coffee shops are BC’s preferred spot for a first date (40%), widely outpacing restaurants (21%), parks (20%), bars (11%) and other common date venues.

Whether you’ve been in the dating game for a while, or looking for a place to take your sweetheart, chances are you’ve made it to a coffee shop.

According to the survey, 86% of BC residents who preferred coffee shops for a first date, believe they are the perfect first-date venue because they offer a “casual, comfortable environment.”

In addition, almost three-quarters of this group stated that cafes provide an excellent setting to chat and get to know someone (70%).

“There’s no better time to celebrate love and meaningful connections than on Valentine’s Day,” said Carly Suppa, Director Public Affairs Starbucks Canada.

“For more than 50 years, Starbucks has been a place to connect over a great cup of coffee. The new survey findings highlight why so many Canadians prefer coffee shops like Starbucks to find love. We’re a place where people gather together to share important life moments – big and small.”

To provide some first-date inspiration, Starbucks shared it’s most romantic locations across Canada, which includes a location right here in Victoria.

According to the coffee chain, the newest Starbucks located along Victoria’s waterfront made the cut.

“Located in a beautiful, waterfront heritage building, this store offers ocean views and easy access to the historic downtown center for a post-coffee stroll.”

The Starbucks which opened last year is located at 819 Wharf Street.
