Nakusp RCMP is currently canvassing its community for possible victims in an ongoing historic sexual assault investigation, a case started by the Victoria Police Department.
71-year-old Harry Charles Sadd, a former youth badminton coach in the Victoria area, was arrested in August 2016 by Victoria Police for a series of alleged sexual assaults that took place in the mid-60s into the 70s.
Since that time, a number of other men have claimed that Sadd sexually assaulted them when they were boys. They were between the ages of 9 and 15 at the time the offences occurred. He currently faces 23 counts related to sexual assault.
Based on the Victoria Police Dept investigational findings, the Nakusp RCMP has reason to believe that there may be other individuals who currently or previously resided in Nakusp that may have been victimized by Sadd,” Cpl. Dan Moskaluk with the South East RCMP District said in a release.
Sadd lived in Nakusp in the mid-60s to mid-70s.
“We would like for any individuals who may have been victimized by Sadd or [who] hold information regarding other victims to contact us.”
Victoria police also believe there victims in the Greater Victoria area who have not come forward yet.
