This Thursday, November 10, Mr. Lube locations across British Columbia will be showing appreciation to Canadian Forces veterans. In doing so, Mr. Lube is inviting veterans to visit any of its 23 locations in British Columbia, including both on Vancouver Island, to receive a free warranty-approved oil change.
The program was first implemented in Kelowna in 2014 by local Mr. Lube Franchise Owner, Darren Pierce. It was so well received by the community that Mr. Lube decided to continue the program.
“The women and men who choose to serve Canada deserve our respect. They have earned it through years of service to the ideals and values that make up Canadian society,” explains David Ticknor, Mr. Lube Franchise Owner in Vancouver. “It’s the least we can do to show our appreciation and thank some of the most honourable and deserving individuals in the province,” he says.
According to Archie Steacy, President of the British Columbia Veterans Commemorative Association, there are over 90,000 veterans who call British Columbia home, with approximately 50% of them living in the Greater Vancouver Area. “Mr. Lube is not forgetting Canada’s veterans; recognizing and honouring their courage and self-sacrifice that made Canadians proud, strong, and free,” Steacy added. “On behalf of all British Columbia veterans, I wish to extend our most heartfelt appreciation to Mr. Lube for its thoughtful recognition of our military service for Canada.”

The Victoria location said 117 free oil changes were given last year and are aiming to do more this year.
To receive a free oil change, veterans or current military individuals will be required to provide service ID or have a BC Veterans license plate.
