An online fundraiser has been launched for the family of a motorcyclist who died in a fatal collision on Friday, October 9th.

The collision occurred just before 5:30 p.m. in the 5200 block of West Saanich Road. Saanich Police are still working to determine what caused the crash.

Since the collision, the motorcyclist has been identified as Konrad Young. Friends of Young have now launched a GoFundMe for his wife Jen and young son Logan.

“In his spare time Konrad loved to go golfing, biking, fishing, camping, playing poker, barbecuing, washing his truck, playing with his smoker, doing water sports, watching sports, lifting, being a Postie, but most of all he loved spending time with his wife, son, family and friends,” wrote Kaylee Wood, friend to Young and organizer of the fundraiser.

“Konrad was a part of many communities and was loved by many friends and family. He was always there to lend a hand when someone needed it. Now, it is our turn to come together and give back to support his wife Jen, and son Logan.”

All proceeds from the fundraiser will go directly to the Young family to assist with the financial burdens that lie ahead.

As of this publication, the fundraiser has raised nearly $5,000 from 27 donors with a goal of $9,000.
