Does your pet have a Halloween costume picked out yet?

Victoria’s Emily Carr House is inviting all furry Frankensteins and poochy pirates to take part in the sixth annual Howl-owe’en Pet Parade on Saturday, October 31st.

The parade will begin at 2 p.m. in the Carr House courtyard at 207 Government Street, and is sure to be an event you and your pet won’t want to miss.

The free, family-friendly parade will celebrate Halloween with crafts, animal stories from Emily Carr and a pet costume contest with prizes donated by the James Bay Veterinary Clinic.

“Emily Carr deeply loved animals, and her menagerie included English sheepdogs, cats, parrots and her famous monkey Woo,” said Shannon King, Executive Director of Carr House.

“We expect plenty of comical costumes!”

There are three categories for the costume contest this year, including cutest costume, spookiest costume and best duo or group costume.

Anyone bringing their pets to the site must have registration completed, regardless of if the pet will be entering the parade or contest. Registration can be completed here, or on-site before 2:30 p.m. on the day of the event.

Space is limited, so advance registration is encouraged to ensure your pooch can participate in the costume and parade.

Bring your pet down to Emily Carr House on Halloween this year for a scary good time!
