The Art Gallery is holding a reception for their newest pieces in the Massey Gallery, there’s a tribute to Dolly at the Vic Theatre and the Esquimalt Farmers market is still in full swing!

If those aren’t your thing, join the community for some yoga in the park or head to Glitch Bar for Student Night!

Here are 5 things to do in and around Victoria this Thursday, September 17th:

Head to the opening reception of the newest pieces in the Massey Gallery!

The new gallery pieces will feature artists Andrea Soos, Alanna Sparanese and Candis Zimmerman.

Opening night will offer attendees the opportunity to meet the artists and enjoy refreshments.

Admission to the Massey Gallery is always free.

Dolly Parton Tribute: 9 to 5 at the Vic Theatre

Three women. One tyrannical boss. One unforgettable anthem.

Celebrate Dolly Parton’s irresistible spirit with a tribute screening of 9 to 5.

This wildly funny, big-hearted workplace rebellion stars Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin and Dolly herself. Clock in for revenge, friendship and a little sweet, sweet justice.

Esquimalt Farmers Market

This food-first market is a foodie’s dream!

Peruse an amazing selection of local businesses, pick up a delicious dinner from a hot food vendor and enjoy twice nightly musical performances while the kids run wild in the onsite playground.

In addition to food, there will be a fantastic selection of artisans and crafters yielding everything from soap to hand-printed tea towels, clothing, jewellery and more.

The weekly vendor map will be posted on the Esquimalt Market website so you can see who will be there each week and plan your trips.

Parking is limited at this location so organizers recommend walking, using transit (#15 or #26 bus) or riding your bicycle.

Yoga in the Park at Meadow Park

Join your friends and neighbours for some yoga in the park in Colwood!

This is part of a free weekly Yoga in the Park series led by local instructor Tamara Maxim.

All levels are welcome – just bring your mat, breathe in the fresh air and reconnect with yourself and your neighbours in nature.

Yoga in the Park is weather dependent, so make sure to plan ahead!

Throwback Thursday at Glitch Bar

Head down to Glitch Bar for the first Throwback Thursday of the year at Glitch Bar!

This Thursday is celebrating Student Night.

They’ve got $6 shafts, $15 fishbowls, and all the arcade machines you know and love.

Go get your dance on and challenge your friends to some good old-fashioned air hockey!

A $5 cover charge gets you a free shot.
