Search and rescue operation underway for missing woman last seen near Comox Lake

RCMP have released updated details on a missing 40-year-old woman, who was last in contact with her family on October 13th.

Comox Valley RCMP and search and rescue teams continue to search for 40-year-old Ashley Bosma, who was reported missing on October 16th.

Police have now confirmed that Bosma was last seen camping near Comox Lake in Cumberland on October 14th. Police believe she may have entered the nearby trail network, been picked up, or walked to another unknown location.

Search efforts have intensified, with Comox Valley Ground Search and Rescue, RCMP Air Services, Police Dog Services, and numerous police officers actively involved.

Authorities say the search will continue through the weekend and beyond.

“It’s unusual for Ashley not to be in touch with her family,” police said, adding that her loved ones are deeply concerned for her well-being.

Bosma is described as 5’4” tall, weighing approximately 115 lbs, with blue eyes and hair dyed brownish purple and blonde. She was last seen wearing pink leggings and a grey sweater.

According to her family, the photo released by police is a recent and accurate likeness of her appearance.
