Oak Bay police are looking into a suspicious incident after several residents reported hearing what sounded like gunshots in the University Woods area on Monday afternoon.
In a media release, Oak Bay Police Department stated that officers received multiple calls around 12:19 p.m. on September 30th about noises similar to gunfire near the 3300-block of University Woods.
Witnesses also saw a light brown sedan with a small Canadian flag near the passenger-side mirror speeding away from the scene.
Police, along with members of the Integrated Canine Service and the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team, conducted a thorough search and checked the neighbourhood.
No injuries have been reported, and investigators are still investigating the incident.
