RCMP and Nanaimo Search and Rescue (NSAR) are conducting a search for a 69-year-old man who is believed to have left his house via e-bike and never returned.
Chun Wai Kwan, who goes by the first name of Danny, was last seen at his north Nanaimo residence at around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday September 18th.
Police say that Kwan recently purchased an electric mountain bike, and he is believed to have left his residence on the bike.
Kwan reportedly has significant health issues and police are concerned for his overall health and well being.
As they lead the search, NSAR have established a command post on Dumont Road and are conducting ground searches of the nearby hiking and biking trails.
Kwan is described by police as a non-white male, standing 5’9” tall, weighing around 165 pounds and is bald with brown eyes.
His bike is a black Volt-brand e-bike with full suspension, orange pedals, black saddle bags and fat tires.
