4 must-see fireworks shows around Victoria over Canada Day long weekend

Canada Day long weekend is fast approaching—and you know what that means, Victoria!

That’s right,fireworks! From the Legislature lawns downtown to Wilson’s Group Stadium after a HarbourCats game, there are plenty of great spots to take in the show.

You can watch while lounging in a world-famous garden, sprawled on the Legislature lawns in Victoria, or head out to Sidney for their amazing display.

Whatever you decide, you’re in for a beautiful show!

Here’s a quick list of firework displays happening in and around Victoria this Canada Day long weekend:

Victoria’s Canada Day

Victoria’s Canada Day always has a sparkling grand finale, and this year is no exception!

After an epic day of live music, food, and celebration the night will end with a fireworks show that lights up the sky—and maybe even stirs a little pride in our hearts.

  • Where: Legislature lawns and on Belleville Street between Government and Menzies
  • When: Tuesday, July 1st—usually begins after 10 p.m.

Butchart Gardens

Saturday, June 28th, will present the first of the season’s spectacular Butchart Gardens fireworks show, which occurs every Saturday (weather permitting) and is included in your general admission ticket.

Described as a “one-of-a-kind, world class show”, attendees will be treated to original aerial and ground firework displays designed and choreographed to music by the Butchart’s great-grandson, Christopher Ross.

Bring a blanket or chair, get cozy, and get ready for an awe-inspiring evening!

  • Where: Butchart Gardens, 800 Benvenuto Avenue, Brentwood Bay
  • When: Saturday, June 28th at 10:15 p.m.

Sidney Days

Sidney Days returns with two days of community fun on Monday, June 30th and Tuesday, July 1st.

The festivities kick off at 7:30 p.m. on June 30th in Beacon Park, featuring an opening ceremony, live music from The Heels, and a fireworks show to cap off the night.

The fireworks will start at around 10:15 p.m. by the Sidney Waterfront.

  • Where: Beacon Park, 9801 Seaport Place, Sidney
  • When: Monday, June 30th at 7:30 p.m. (fireworks at 10:15 p.m.)

Victoria HarbourCats Fireworks Celebration

Cheer on your local team and stay for the finale!

Following the game between the Victoria HarbourCats and Redmond Dudes, they’ll be treating guests to a wonderful fireworks display to finish the evening off with a bang.

The show will be included in your general admission ticket, which can be purchased here.

  • Where: The Wilson’s Group Stadium at Royal Athletic Park, 1014 Caledonia Avenue
  • When: Monday, June 30th—game starts at 6:35 p.m. (doors open at 5 p.m.)
