Victoria is bracing for another bout of winds tonight as Environment Canada issues a second wind warning in just a matter of days.
While the previous warning had less of an impact than expected, this storm could bring more noticeable effects.
According to the alert, southeasterly winds of 70 km/h gusting to 90 km/h will develop early this evening as a low-pressure system approaches Vancouver Island.
The strongest winds are expected to impact Greater Victoria, the Southern Gulf Islands, eastern Vancouver Island, and parts of the Lower Mainland before easing early Tuesday morning as the system moves inland and weakens.
This latest storm comes on the heels of a weekend that saw large amounts of rainfall drench the region.
While Victoria avoided significant flooding, the saturated ground could make trees more vulnerable to being uprooted in tonight’s windstorm.
