This year marked the 16th annual Habitat For Humanity Victoria Gingerbread Showcase which set a new record for the organization’s winter fundraising campaign.

Every year, people and organizations from all over Greater Victoria enter to create the best gingerbread display they can in an effort to help Habitat for Humanity raise money for those in need.

The displays must be entirely edible and the presentations are always impressive and immense, following a certain theme.

This year’s theme was “Through a Child’s Eyes,” which was interpreted in a number of different ways.

The Gingerbread Showcase was on display from November 22nd to January 5th at Hotel Grand Pacific in downtown Victoria.

There, onlookers were able to vote for their favourites while donating money to the cause with every vote cast.

This year, over 18,300 votes were cast and the fundraiser generated a record breaking $125,235.

Below are the winners of the 16th annual Gingerbread Showcase:

  • Best First Impression: The Power of Imagination by Jessica Hoehne
