The Victoria Royals have bolstered their roster with the acquisition of forward Hayden Moore from the Wenatchee Wild in exchange for Deagan McMillan and a 2026 seventh-round draft pick, the team announced today.

Moore, a Winnipeg native, has shown steady progress in the WHL, tallying seven points in 15 games with the Wild this season.

Over his career in the WHL, which spans parts of three seasons, the 2006-born forward has recorded 17 goals and 22 assists in 84 games. Standing 6’0” and weighing 170 lbs, Moore was originally drafted by the Winnipeg ICE in the fourth round, 85th overall, and is known for his competitive edge on the ice.

“Hayden is a competitive player who will fit nicely into our lineup,” said Royals General Manager Jake Heisinger. “We look forward to having him join our team.”

Outgoing forward Deagan McMillan, who was acquired by the Royals in August, appeared in eight games this season. The 2005-born player from Vernon, BC, has logged 178 games across his WHL career.

McMillan missed the first couple of games with the Royals as he attended the Vancouver Canucks training camp.

Fans have a special event to look forward to this Sunday, November 3rd, as the Royals host the Saskatoon Blades in their Canadian Armed Forces Appreciation Game, with a 3:05 p.m. start.

This annual event pays tribute to Canadian Armed Forces members, veterans, and their families for their dedication and service.

“This event is dedicated to showing our gratitude to Canadian Armed Forces members, veterans, and their families. We honour the courage and commitment of those who serve both at home and abroad,” said the Royals.

The afternoon will feature a post-game skate, where fans can take to the ice alongside Royals players—a unique opportunity for families to connect with their favourite athletes.

Skate rentals will be available for those who want to join in. Proceeds from the game’s 50/50 raffle will go toward supporting the Esquimalt military community, while funds from a team jersey auction will benefit the Support Our Troops program, aiding local military families.

Sunday’s game offers an inspiring way for fans to support both their team and the community members who serve Canada, highlighting the Royals’ commitment to community engagement and respect for service members.

It’s unclear if the Royals new acquisition will play in the Sunday matinee.
