Family confirm Vancouver Island man missing for months found deceased

The family of a missing Vancouver Island man have confirmed he has been located deceased.

Family of 53-year-old David Phillips was last seen at his Courtenay home on May3rd.

Comox Valley RCMP first requested help locating Phillips on May 17th and, on May 28th, released a new photo, stating the search was ongoing.

Sadly, on September 16th, Phillips daughter took to social media stating her dad had been located deceased and they were no longer searching for him.

“I regret to inform everyone that the BC RCMP have found my dad,” said his daughter.

“I will not be answering questions or messages today , I will answer everyone’s questions when I am ready. I thank everyone for their help with sharing my posts and giving us words of encouragement,” she added.

Details surrounding his death were not released. Foul play is not suspected.
