Multi-vehicle crash closes southbound lanes of Trans Canada Highway near View Royal

Update: Both the southbound and northbound lanes of the Trans Canada Highway are down to single-lane traffic as of 12:15 p.m. Thursday afternoon.

The semi-truck involved in the crash remains on its side as crews work to remove the vehicle.

Emergency crews are currently responding to a multiple-vehicle collision on the Trans Canada Highway near the 6 Mile Road off-ramp.

According to West Shore RCMP, the southbound lanes are completely shut down, with traffic being diverted via 6 Mile Road.

The northbound lane is reduced to a single lane.

Police are asking motorist to expect delays and avoid the area if possible.

The crash involved a semi-truck that ended up on its side.

Injuries are unknown at this time and no time frame has been provided on when the highway will reopen.
