BC Transit will make significant changes to two major routes in Victoria this fall

Share

BC Transit has announced some significant changes being made to the transit system this fall, which may impact some riders of Route 13 and Route 24.

As of September 4th, Route 13 Ten Mile Point/UVic will be discontinued due to low ridership.

Riders of this route are advised to take Route 11 Tillicum Centre/UVic, as it overlaps with most of the Route 13 stops.

The following four bus stops along Arbutus Road will be closed to reflect this change:

  • Arbutus at Arbutus
  • Arbutus at Juan De Fuca
  • Arbutus 2800 Block
  • Arbutus at Juan De Fuca

Secondly, Route 24 Cedar Hill/Tillicum Centre will no longer operate along Parklands Drive and Kingsmill Road as of September 3rd.

BC Transit has said the reasons pertain to issues with congested residential parking, making it difficult for buses to operate effectively, as well as low ridership.

Residents will be able to use transit along Admirals Road, which will be a five minute walk for 80% of the Parklands neighbourhood.

Visit the BC Transit website for more information on Route 24.
