What thriller game six it was!
The Vancouver Canucks defeated the Nashville Predators Friday night to advance to the second round of the playoffs.
The Canucks secured the series edging the Predators 1-0 in a closely contested Game 6, and took the first round 4-2.
Vancouver will now face the Edmonton Oilers, marking the teams’ first playoff meeting since 1992, when Edmonton won the second-round series in six games.
The Oilers defeated the LA Kings in the first round for the third consecutive year on Wednesday.
The Canucks swept all four regular-season matchups against the Oilers this year.
The NHL has yet to announce the schedule for the Oilers-Canucks series, but round two of the playoffs is set to begin on Sunday.
Pius Sutter scored with 1:39 remaining in the game, leaving a hard push by the Predators in the final minute of the series as they tried to tie the game.
