Sunglasses on a Dog: A (Cautiously) Optimistic Comedy at Intrepid Studio

See the latest and most inventive work from Katie-Ellen Humphries (CBC’s The Debaters).

The seasoned performer brings their full breadth of comic talents to this show in an imaginative blend of standup, sketch, storytelling and multi-media.

The show marks a return for Humphries, not just to their beloved hometown, but also to the creative, multifaceted performance style they first learned as a member of Victoria’s award-winning (often madcap) theatre cabaret Atomic Vaudeville.

Among other things, the show sharply skewers modern “hustle culture.”

With their signature wit, creative command of language and powerful stage presence, Humphries takes sharp satirical aim at the seemingly endless modern messaging that urges us all to constantly optimize.

In what feels like ceaselessly challenging times, Sunglasses on a Dog: A (Cautiously) Optimistic Comedy invites audiences to be deliberately unproductive, together, to radically anti-isolate and most of all to share a laugh.
