A 33-year-old man has been identified and arrested following the alleged sexual assault of a youth at a Langford bus stop.
The incident occurred on June 9th, at around 3 p.m. in the area of Jacklin Road and Station Avenue in Langford.
According to West Shore RCMP, a young girl was reportedly approached by an unknown man at a bus stop.
There, he reportedly engaged the youth in a short conversation before sexually assaulting her.

West Shore RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit investigated the report and were able to identify a suspect.
On June 17th, investigators arrested a 33-year-old man in relation to the sexual assault.
“We extend our sincere thanks to the public and the businesses who provided timely information and assistance,” said Acting Sgt. Meghan Groulx with the Serious Crime Unit.
“The collective efforts of our investigators and community members allowed us to identify and locate the unknown suspect within six days.”
Police say that although there were no physical injuries in this incident, they recognize the significant emotional and psychological impact sexual violence can have on victims.
This is believed to have been an isolated incident as no other similar reports have come to police.
The investigation remains ongoing and no further information will be released at this time.
