Bay Street bridge, also known as Point Ellice Bridge, will be closed overnight on three occasions through the next week as construction nears completion.
According to the City of Victoria, these closures will see the final work completed on the bridge.
The Bay Street bridge will be closed in both directions to vehicles and pedestrians on:
- Tuesday, June 16th from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
- Wednesday, June 17th from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
- Thursday, June 18th from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Additionally a temporary intersection shutdown will also be in place at Tyee Road and Bay Street during the June 16th and 17th closures.

Residents near the bridge can expect elevated noise levels for overnight work, including milling and paving work, heavy equipment operation and reversing alarms. The City noted that noise is expected to be louder on the night of June 16th.
During the daytime, both the bridge and the intersection will be open.
“Please plan ahead, follow posted signage and allow extra travel time,” said the City in a construction update.
Once this week’s work is complete, the bridge should be fully reopened and back to business-as-usual.
