Ladysmith RCMP are investigating a collision between a semi-truck and a motorcyclist early this morning which resulted in the motorcyclist’s death.
At around 4:40 a.m. on Monday, May 25th, police responded to the collision in the southbound lanes of the Trans-Canada Highway at Timberlands Road.
Despite life-saving measures, a 40-year-old man riding the motorcycle was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A traffic reconstructionist attended the scene to assist with the investigation into the cause of the collision.
The highway was closed for around four hours while investigators gathered evidence, and was re-opened at around 8:30 a.m.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
