Beacon Community Services acquires assisted living space in James Bay for seniors

Share

Beacon Community Services (BCS) has acquired Parry Place, an assisted living residence for seniors in James Bay.

The organization took over operations of Parry Place from the Capital Region Housing Corporation (CRHC), and says it will continue to serve seniors.

Residents will continue receiving the same support and services, although from a new provider.

“Our focus throughout this process has been on the safety, comfort and well-being of residents,” said Tricia Sexton-Earl, CEO of BCS.

“We are committed to maintaining a high standard of care and to ensuring residents and families feel confident and supported during this transition.”

According to BCS, this acquisition will ensure Parry Place’s operation and long-term stability, though residents will transition from CRHC’s affordable housing model to a model that aligns with the support provided by Beacon.

No immediate changes will be implemented to daily operations or residents’ care. BCS says next steps will involve strengthening operations by hiring additional staff.

BCS also noted that the facility will continue to receive annual funding from BC Housing, as it did under CRHC.
