Saanich Police renew focus on investigating stolen First Nations art collection

Saanich Police have renewed focus on an investigation involving the alleged theft of a large collection of First Nations art. 

The art was initially stolen from a residence in Gordon Head on April 2nd, 2024, and is valued at over $60 thousand. 

The collection includes several pieces by First Nations artist Calvin Moreberg and many Inuit soapstone carvings.

Police say that several of the stolen pieces have since been recovered, but many remain missing.

Anyone who has seen the artwork, knows where it may be located or has information related to this investigation should call Saanich Police at (250) 475-4321 referencing file number 24-5779.
