Vancouver Island police disrupt multiple drug trafficking networks

Share

Police have reportedly disrupted numerous drug trafficking networks on Vancouver Island.

The endeavour was led by the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU) of British Columbia.

CFSEU says disrupting these networks has resulted in arrests, drug seizures and the removal of weapons from the community.

Between January 29th and February 1st, CFSEU worked with West Shore RCMP, Saanich Police and VicPD to target the alleged gang-related activity.

Police seized approximately one kilogram of suspected illicit drugs, including fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine; approximately $14,500 in cash; as well as bear spray and a knife.

Seven suspects were arrested during the investigation and generated over 27 investigative files on people believed to be involved in drug trafficking networks on southern Vancouver Island.

“This deployment to Vancouver Island demonstrated the strength of collaboration — combining local knowledge, shared expertise, and coordinated efforts to disrupt organized crime and help keep our communities safe,” said Sgt. Sarbjit K. Sangha, Media Relations Officer for CFSEU-BC.

“CFSEU-BC remains committed to working with our partners from across the province to address gang-related activity.”

Targeting gangs and organized crime by supporting local police agencies is the mandate of CFSEU — BC’s largest integrated police organization.
