Share

North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP are looking for witnesses and video footage related to a stabbing on Somenos Road near the Canco gas station.

The incident took place early morning on November 22, 2025 after police received reports of a disturbance involving several youths.

Police then received a second report of an injured individual near the nearby soccer fields, which is where officers located an adult male suffering from a single stab wound.

The injured victim was treated by officers at the scene until paramedics arrived, escorting him to the hospital. His injuries were considered non-life-threatening.

With the help of Police Dog Services, police were able to find evidence to support their investigation, however, further evidence is needed as they search for a suspect.

A canvass of the area for CCTV footage and a request to the Real Time Intelligence Centre (RTIC) were also completed. However, no additional leads were established and the investigation is still ongoing.

RCMP are now turning to the community to assist by sharing any information or video that may be helpful to the investigation.

Anyone with information who has not already spoken to police is asked to contact the North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP detachment at (250) 748‑5522.
