A well-known Japanese restaurant that has served Greater Victoria diners for decades is now up for sale.

Yoshi Sushi, located in Saanich’s Gateway Village at 771 Vernon Avenue near the busy Highway 1 and Highway 17 junction, has been listed with an asking price of $349,000.

According to the listing, Yoshi Sushi is a turnkey business that has operated for roughly 25 years at its current location, with the restaurant itself tracing its roots back to the late 1980s.

The family-friendly restaurant describes itself as a relaxed Japanese throwback, offering a sushi bar, robata grill and traditional tatami rooms.

The restaurant seats approximately 115 guests and includes a full commercial kitchen.

Over the years, it has built a loyal local following, with robata oysters frequently cited as a standout menu item alongside a wide selection of sushi options catering to both newcomers and seasoned sushi fans.

The listing points to the Saanich location as a major draw, highlighting steady foot traffic and close proximity to police and fire stations, banks, grocery stores, government offices and Uptown Shopping Centre.

Ample free parking is also noted, a feature that can be hard to come by in the region.

Property details show the business is located in the Swan Lake area and operates out of a building originally constructed in 1987. The listing appeared on REALTOR.ca on Monday and includes a request that potential buyers do not approach staff regarding the sale.

Yoshi Sushi has long been a familiar name in the local dining scene, offering a casual setting that blends traditional Japanese elements with a neighbourhood feel.

For now, it’s business as usual at Yoshi Sushi, but the listing gives someone new the chance to take over a longtime Saanich favourite.
