From thought-provoking festivals and live performances to community celebrations and late-night shows, there’s an event for every kind of weekend mood.
Without further ado, here are 10 things to do in and around Victoria this weekend—February 28th and March 1st.
KWENCH Writers Festival: Beyond the Book
The festival goes far beyond fiction and nonfiction to explore every page of the writing life: comedy and cookbook writing, journalism and arts and culture, screenwriting and songwriting.
They’ll spotlight everyone from ghostwriters to BC voices who have made their mark far beyond the province, and examine how writing intersects with urgent cultural questions—like plagiarism, cancel culture, and the influence of AI.
By bringing together diverse forms, voices, and perspectives, Beyond the Book invites participants to see writing not as a single path but as a powerful tool for making sense of the world.
