That quiet stretch between Christmas and New Year’s Day has officially arrived.

The decorations are still up, the snacks haven’t run out yet, and time feels a little less rushed. If you’re sticking around Victoria and looking for a reason to get out of the house, there are still plenty of things happening around the city.

From festive lights and holiday traditions to live music and local sports, there are a few things to do in Victoria while we hang out in that in-between-the-holidays sweet spot.

2026 BC Men’s, Women’s & U20 Curling Championships

The 2026 BC Men’s, Women’s & U20 Curling Championships are returning to Greater Victoria this December 30th for six days of high-stakes competition!

Head to the Archie Browning Sports Centre in Esquimalt to see BC’s best men’s, women’s and U20 teams compete for provincial titles and the honour of representing BC at the Brier, Scotties, and New Holland Canadian U20 Championships.

  • When: December 30th to January 4th, 2026 – starting at 9 a.m. every day

Hop on the Ferris wheel at Lights of Wonder

Don’t miss the chance to ride on the iconic Ferris wheel at Lights of Wonder!

Take in the stunning festive sights of Centennial Square as it’s transformed into a winter wonderland from now until December 31st.

From 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., the Ferris wheel will be running, along with food trucks and the Information Hut.

Outdoor skating at the Butchart Gardens

The Butchart Gardens brought back its beloved outdoor skating rink during their Magic of Christmas happening until January 6th. Go skating and enjoy the beautiful light displays!

  • When: Runs daily until January 6th – 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. daily

Catch the final performance of a timeless classic that brings everyone together for the holiday season. The Victoria Symphony and the Ballet Victoria dancers will warm your heart with Christmas cheer.

A Victoria tradition that keeps on giving and boasts new element each year while showcasing the beautiful classical talent of the Ballet Victoria dancers as well as the young talent of the Ballet Victoria Conservatory.
