RCMP treating disappearance of 65-year-old Nanaimo woman as suspicious (UPDATED)

UPDATE: A 65-year-old Nanaimo woman who was reported missing in mid-November was located the same day deceased. Her death is being investigated as a homicide.

Nanaimo RCMP are asking for the public’s help in locating a 65-year-old woman, whose disappearance is being treated as highly suspicious.

Police say Sherry Shelley was last seen on the evening of November 13th. Since then, she has not been heard from, and investigators with the Nanaimo RCMP Serious Crime Unit have taken over the file.

According to RCMP, during the overnight hours between November 13th and November 14th, Shelley is believed to have been in the area between Walmart and the Old Logging Road located off Ware Road in Lantzville.

She may have been with her vehicle, which is described as a white 2013 Volkswagen Tiguan.

Investigators have not released further details about the circumstances surrounding her disappearance but say they are concerned for her well-being.

Anyone who saw Shelley, her vehicle, or has dashcam or security footage from the area between Walmart and the Old Logging Road in Lantzville during the late evening of November 13th or early morning of November 14th is asked to contact police.
