Victoria puts out call to all musicians and bands to join its 2026-27 music roster

The City of Victoria has officially put out a call to local musicians and bands from across Greater Victoria to apply for its 2026-27 music roster.

The City’s music roster is a curated list of performers who bring live music to outdoor spaces throughout the city.

Official music roster bands and musicians will benefit by having access to play official City shows they would not be able to beforehand.

The selected artists will be paid to perform at concerts which are free-to-attend in the summer months, in venues such as the Cameron Bandshell, Fort Common and Ship Point.

According to the City of Victoria, this program aims to showcase the diversity of the local music scene and to support artists growing their audiences and careers.

“Victoria has one of the most dynamic music scenes in the country, and this program is about celebrating that creativity,” said Mayor Marianne Alto.

“When local artists perform in our public spaces, it brings people together and makes our city come alive.”

Bands and musicians will be selected for the roster based on originality, performance quality, entertainment value and alignment with City cultural values.

Those who apply will have their applications reviewed by an external jury of music professionals, community members and cultural organizers.

Ultimately, the City’s goal is to end up with a list of around 100 artists and musicians on their roster.

In years past, the City has even created specialized playlists for streaming services by using the music roster artists.

The 2025-26 music roster includes such local favourites as: Charis Tazumi, Conjure Hand, Ranger, Poncho, Sofia Miller and many more.

For those who wish to apply, an online information session will be held on November 4th, where artists will be able to learn about eligibility, selection criteria and performance opportunities.

Applications are due on November 24th. More information is available online here.
