Halloween season is in the air, Victoria!

If you’ve been meaning to make a Halloween bucket list to fully immerse yourself in the spirit of the season, look no further.

Whether you’re making trick-or-treating plans, hoping to rave it up downtown, having horror movie marathons, or carving pumpkins, we hope these activities will ensure you’re having the most frighteningly fun time!

Without further delay, here’s ## things to do in and around Victoria leading up to this Halloween:

Tally-Ho-Haunted Carriage Tours — Victoria’s Ghostly Ride

Climb aboard a horse-drawn carriage and journey through Victoria’s dark, haunted past — if you dare. As Halloween approaches, your costumed guide will share chilling tales of restless spirits, eerie landmarks, and long-whispered legends that linger in the fog.

The beautifully adorned draft horse, decorated with protective ribbons and brasses, leads you in comfort through the city’s most haunted streets. Expect spine-tingling stories, a few laughs, and plenty of ghostly atmosphere.

Tours depart from the burgundy kiosk at Belleville and Menzies Streets. Each carriage carries up to six passengers — though four adults fit best for a truly cozy fright.

Halloween Train BC Forest Discovery Centre

The BC Forest Discovery Centre in Duncan is once again turning into a spine-tingling destination with the return of its beloved Halloween Train!

Running October 17th to 21st, 24th to 26th, and 28th to 30th, trains depart every 30 minutes from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Hop aboard the gas locomotive as it winds through 100 acres of forest glowing with eerie lights, spooky scenes, and friendly frights for all ages. Between rides, enjoy crafts in the schoolhouse, trick-or-treating, and live entertainment from Andy McCormack.

Warm up by the fire pits with hot chocolate or grab a bite from food vendors before you go. Costumes are encouraged, and most displays are covered—so a little rain won’t stop the fun! Tickets are available online only at $18 for adults, $16 for kids, and free for little ones under 2.

Wicked Victoria

Downtown Victoria becomes a Halloween wonderland later this month as Government Street (Yates to Broughton) hosts the 11th Annual Thrifty Foods Wicked Victoria.

This free, family-friendly festival invites ghouls of all ages to join in the fun with costumed characters, live music, dance and theatrical performances, storytelling at Munro’s Books, and interactive activities for kids like crafts and face painting.

Local vendors and nonprofits will offer treats and festive goods, while businesses hand out candy in a safe trick-or-treat corridor. New this year: a 19+ “extra-spooky” experience for adult thrill-seekers. Come celebrate community and Halloween spirit downtown.

Petrified Pub Crawl at the Empress Hotel 

Step into the spooky side of Victoria with Hidden Victoria’s Petrified Pub Crawl, a 3-hour evening tour that combines haunted history and local drinks.

Join a lively guide as you visit pubs filled with ghostly tales, enjoy local beers and themed cocktails, and discover Victoria’s darker past. Whether you love the paranormal or just want a distinct night out, this crawl mixes thrills with fun. You must be 19 or older. Book ahead, as spots are limited.

Zombie Walk

Get ready to shuffle, moan, and roam. Victoria’s undead return to Centennial Square for the annual Zombie Walk on Sunday, October 19th. Participants will gather next to city hall before the horde begins its creepy parade through downtown.

Whether you’re dressing up as a ghoul, zombie, or classic monster, this family-friendly event invites everyone to join in the fun. Expect eerie vibes, spooky laughs, and plenty of photo opportunities. No weapons or messy gore are allowed; just good scares and community spirit. It’s free to attend, so show up early to get a good spot!

Pumpkinfest at Galey Farms

Make Galey Farms your destination this fall for a mix of harvest charm and Halloween thrills. Their Pumpkinfest! invites families to ride hay wagons to the pumpkin patch, pick out their perfect gourd, zip through the corn maze, explore Old West Town and hop aboard the farm train. As evening falls, Festival of Fear kicks in—with a “Corn Maze of Horror,” haunted kids’ house in Old West Town, and the “Crazy Train.”

Brave souls can venture into Carnevil, a 6,000-sq-ft haunted house (PG-13) featuring three “chicken exits.” Daytime is family fun; night is for the brave. Tickets will be available via Showpass.

Ghostly Walks: Halloween Tours

Celebrate the season of horror by taking a tour of the local haunted hotspots!

Discover the Past has a variety of different tour options available under ‘Ghostly Walks’ depending on the time of year.

The Halloween special is only available until November 2nd, so don’t miss out on a chilling evening stroll with petrifying with ghost stories and Victoria’s dark history.

Ticket prices vary, but general admission is $23 for adults and $18 for students.

Halloween Market

Find all of your haunted season needs at this year’s premier Halloween Market!

It’ll be held at the Da Vinci Centre and will feature a wide variety of vendors selling scary goodies and sweet treats.

Admission is $5 per day, or $7 for a two-day pass, and kids 12 and under are free. A portion to benefit the Habitat Acquisition Trust!

Legends of Halloween at Haunted Manor Victoria

Step into the shadows at Haunted Manor Victoria, where “Legends of Halloween” transforms their immersive mini-golf experience into a hair-raising adventure.

Navigate 18 holes amid a haunted manor setting, with spine-tingling stories and spectral surprises around every turn. Between swings, linger in the ping-pong lounge stocked with themed drinks (alcoholic & non-) to fuel your courage.

Perfect for groups, date nights, or thrill-seeking friends, the evening blends playful chills with clever scares. Located at 711 Yates Street, Haunted Manor keeps its doors open late (11 p.m.), just in time to fully embrace the Halloween spirit.

Haunted Hollywood – Halloween Show and Party 

Step into the glam-meets-ghoul world of Haunted Hollywood at the Victoria Conference Centre. Doors open at 6 p.m., with a live theatrical show starting at 7 p.m., followed by an immersive after-party lasting well into the night.

Expect dramatic performances, eerie cabaret-style thrills, and costume vibes worthy of Tinseltown’s darker side. The multi-level venue blends visual spectacle, dance, and spooky surprises for Halloween lovers.

Whether you’re there for the show or the dancefloor, this is your chance to party with ghosts and glamour in one unforgettable night.

High Moon – A Werewolf Western

Saddle up for a wild ride as 31 Iguana presents High Moon: A Werewolf Western at Heritage Acres this Halloween season.

Written by Victoria theatre veterans Ian Case and David Elendune, this immersive outdoor show blends classic western grit with hair-raising horror. Follow the action through barns and moonlit streets where something hungry lurks around every corner.

Starring Rosemary Jeffery, Ryan Kniel, Wendy Magahay, and Rod Peter Jr., the experience promises equal parts scares, laughs, and atmosphere. This 60-minute show is recommended for ages 12+. Bring sturdy shoes, courage, and maybe a silver bullet — you’ll need them.

Halloween at the Farm — Bilston Creek Farm

Celebrate the spookiest season at Bilston Creek Farm. Admission is free, and visitors can roam the farm, snap festive photos, and try their luck finding the Golden Pumpkin, hidden daily (winner receives a fire-pit experience).

For kids, the Kids Halloween Experience (ticketed, $10) includes a pumpkin hunt (find all six to earn a treat) and crafting a mini witches’ broom from farm-grown materials.

While there, enjoy Halloween caramel apples, warm drinks, fresh pizza by Hustle & Dough, and browse lavender goods in the farm store. Tickets and VIP parking (limited) must be booked online in advance. Don’t miss out on this harvest-meets-Halloween family outing.

Silver Rill Corn Maze

If you haven’t checked it out yet, Silver Rill Farm’s Corn Maze is still open and delighting visitors on the Saanich Peninsula. Now in its second year, the maze stretches across nearly four acres — double the size of last year’s — and offers both a classic winding route and a “find-it” challenge for puzzle lovers.

Open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (last entry at 5 p.m.), admission is $6 per person, with kids 2 and under free. Enjoy kids’ games, farm animals, and the Silver Rill Market stocked with fresh produce, pumpkins, and fall decor.
