All aboard: The hauntingly fun Halloween train is returning to Vancouver Island

We’re stepping further and further into the haunting season, Victoria!

The BC Forest Discovery Centre in Duncan is once again transforming into a hauntingly fun destination with the return of the Halloween Train, promising thrills, chills, and family-friendly fun for all ages.

This year’s spooktacular event runs October 17th to 21st, 24th to 26th, and 28th to 30th, with trains departing every 30 minutes from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. each day.

Hop aboard the gas locomotive as it winds through the 100-acre forest filled with eerie scenes, glowing decorations, and a few friendly frights along the way.

But that’s not all—visitors can enjoy crafts in the schoolhouse, trick-or-treat stations, and live entertainment from Andy McCormack. Warm up by the fire pits with a cup of hot chocolate or grab a bite from the onsite food vendors before your ride.

This is a rain-or-shine event, and most displays are covered, so a little drizzle won’t dampen the fun. Costumes are encouraged—just remember, things can get a little scary after dark, so families with younger kids may want to visit before sunset.

Tickets are available online only, and they tend to sell out fast. Prices are $18 for adults, seniors, and youth, $16 for children (3–12), and free for kids 2 and under.

Don’t miss your chance to ride through one of Vancouver Island’s most beloved Halloween traditions—before it vanishes into the night!

They disappear quickly, so get them while you can!
