Silver Rill corn maze opens on Saanich Peninsula this weekend

Share

The crisp mornings and colourful leaves may not be fully here yet, but fall is already in the air, and nothing says the season like a corn maze.

Silver Rill Farm is opening its second annual corn maze this Saturday, September 13th, on the Saanich Peninsula.

This year’s maze is bigger than ever, doubling in size to nearly four acres. Visitors can choose between a classic winding route in the top half or a “find-it” mission in the bottom section for those who want to test their puzzle-solving skills.

Admission is $6 per person, and kids two and under get in free. The maze will be open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with the last entry at 5 p.m. The season runs until late October, weather permitting.

Families can also enjoy kids’ games, visits with friendly farm animals, and plenty of photo opportunities along the way. For larger groups of 15 or more, the farm asks that visitors coordinate ahead of time through their website.

The Silver Rill Market is also open for the season, stocked with late-harvest sweet corn, fresh farm products, and a large selection of pumpkins, gourds, and ornamental varieties, just in time for fall decorating.

So grab your boots, bring your friends or family, and get lost in the best way at one of the season’s most popular local traditions.
