‘Defence on the Dock’ event offers a chance to get up close and personal with Navy life

Share

Every year, Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Esquimalt allows the public a chance to get up close and personal with the Navy lifestyle during their annual event, Defence on the Dock.

Naval ships will be moored at the Ogden Point Breakwater District in Victoria on Sunday, October 5th, giving any and all the opportunity to climb aboard and see what the life of a naval officer looks like.

At this event, there will be a variety of exciting displays and demonstrations, including ship tours of a Halifax-class Canadian Patrol Frigate and opportunities to check out, or even ride on, other naval vessels.

Additionally, there will be a ‘Sport Zone’ and live music performed by the Naden Band of the Royal Canadian Navy.

CFB Esquimalt noted that in order to participate in a ship tour, you need to be able to climb stairs and ladders under your own power, stand for moderate amounts of time and not have any serious medical conditions that would impede a tour.
