Oak Bay police are searching for a driver after a cyclist was struck and dragged by an SUV in a hit-and-run last Friday afternoon.
The incident happened around 12:07 p.m. on August 22nd near the intersection of Newport Avenue and St. David Street.
Emergency crews, including BC Emergency Health Services and Oak Bay Fire Department, treated the cyclist for minor cuts and abrasions at the scene.
According to witnesses, a white SUV travelling southbound on Newport Avenue sideswiped the cyclist and kept going.
The impact caused the bicycle to become lodged in the vehicle, dragging it a short distance before it dislodged. The bike suffered damage to its handlebars and front wheel.
