Canada’s favourite summer treat is back!
On Friday, July 11th (today), 7-Eleven Canada is giving away free Slurpees across the country, including right here in Victoria, to celebrate its annual name day.
This year, the summer fun starts early with $2 beverages and $1 chicken wings leading up to and following the special day. It’s the perfect excuse to cool off with the iconic frozen drink that has become a Canadian summer classic.
But, first off, did you know the first Slurpee in Canada was poured in Calgary in 1969?
These frozen drinks are served at -2.2°C, and more than 40% of all Slurpee sales happen during the summer months. Winnipeg leads the world in per capita Slurpee consumption, where locals even greet visitors at the airport with a Slurpee instead of flowers.
This year, 7-Eleven is pairing their refreshing Slurpees with tasty treats. In BC, locals are loving the Monterey Chicken Taquito with their Slurpee, while Ontario goes for the Beef Taco & Cheese Taquito.
In Saskatchewan, slurpees are best enjoyed with Potato Wedges or Chicken Wings.
On top of all the slurpee goodness, Canadians can also make a difference by rounding up their purchases to the nearest dollar from June 25th to August 26th to support the Children’s Miracle Network. Every donation goes directly to local children’s hospitals.
Don’t miss out, grab your free slurpee in Victoria today!
