The federal election is just around the corner, Victoria!
Starting this week, personalized voter information cards are being mailed out to registered voters across the country.
These cards tell you where and when to vote and include details about the accessibility of each polling place.
If you’re already registered to vote (as most Canadians are), keep an eye on your mailbox because you should receive your card by Friday, April 11th.
If you’re not registered yet, have recently moved, or have noticed that your voter card has incorrect information, you can remedy this using online voter service.
Additionally, you can call Elections Canada at 1-800-463-6868 or reach out to your local Elections Canada office.
If you receive a card for a deceased person or someone who does not live at your address, reach out to Elections Canada.
When voting day arrives, make sure to bring proof of identity and address. Your voter information card counts as proof of address when it’s paired with another accepted piece of ID.
While you don’t need to bring your voter card to the polls, it definitely helps make the process smoother and faster.
Make sure you’re registered and don’t forget to vote on Monday, April 28th!
