Comox RCMP looking to indentify potential arson suspect from February fire (VIDEO)

Share

RCMP in Comox are asking for the public’s help in identifying a person they believe may be connected to a fire that broke out in a quiet residential area earlier this year.

The blaze happened just before midnight on February 23rd in the 1500-block of Skeena Drive. While the fire was quickly contained and no injuries were reported, investigators say it was suspicious in nature.

Now, weeks later, police have released a video of a person they believe could be involved.

“While some time has passed since the incident, investigators have been actively pursuing various leads and examining all available evidence,” said Constable Monika Terragni, Media Relations Officer for the Comox Valley RCMP.

“As a part of this process, we are now releasing images of an arson suspect in the hopes someone may recognize them or have information that could assist in the investigation.”

The photos aren’t the clearest, but police are hoping someone might spot something familiar — like the individual’s build, walk, or even their clothing.

Anyone with information that could help is asked to call Comox Valley RCMP at 250-338-1321 and reference file 2025-2512. If you prefer to remain anonymous, you can also contact Comox Valley Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
