Another day, another dollar, and now it’s time for some weekend fun!
If you haven’t had the chance to go yet, West Coast Amusement’s travelling carnival is stationed at Mayfair Shopping Centre with rides, classic fair snacks and more.
Other weekend activities include a spring plant sale, the Khalsa Day Parade, a jazz show, Daniel Lapp’s Joy of Life concert, and more!
Don’t forget to check out this year’s Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition at the Royal BC Museum before it closes—this weekend is its last until next year.

West Coast Amusements at Mayfair Mall
Canada’s biggest travelling carnival is back in Victoria, which kicked off this Thursday and runs until Sunday, April 27th!
West Coast Amusements (WCA) presents a mix of favourite rides, classic carnival snacks and no shortage of games and fun.
Ride wristbands are $50 and can be purchased on their website.

60th Wildlife Photographer of the Year Exhibition
The Royal BC Museum is once again rolling out the red carpet for one of the world’s most celebrated photography exhibitions: Wildlife Photographer of the Year.
The exhibit kicked off on February 14th and runs until April 27th, showcasing over 100 breathtaking new images—each one a testament to the awe-inspiring beauty of the natural world.
Highlighted amongst the collection includes “The Swarm of Life” by Vancouver Island’s own Shane Gross, this year’s Adult Grand Title Winner.

Abkhazi Garden Spring Plant Sale
Take advantage of the nice weather and stop by Abkhazi Garden for their spring plant sale!
While you’re there, wander the grounds and learn about the history of this exquisite heritage garden created by Prince Nicolas and Princess Peggy Abkhazi.
Proceeds of the plant sale go to the maintenance of this heritage garden!

Spring-O-Ween
We’re halfway to Halloween, which means a reason to celebrate for the organizers of Halloween Market YYJ!
There will be around 30 local vendors for guests to meander through, so gather some pals and find some scary fantastic items in honour of this halfway point.
Admission is $2, and you can enter a raffle to support the Bat Program.

Jerry Seinfeld Live
Legendary comedian Jerry Seinfeld is bringing his iconic humour to the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre this weekend!
Seinfeld’s comedy journey began with his breakout appearance on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson in 1981. He later co-created Seinfeld, the sitcom that became a cultural phenomenon, running for nine seasons and earning multiple Emmy, Golden Globe, and People’s Choice awards.

Rodgers & Hammerstein’s ‘Cinderella’
Experience the magic as the Canadian Heritage Arts Society (CHAS) and the Canadian College of Performing Arts (CCPA) present a reimagined version of classic, Cinderella.
It opened on Friday, April 18th and runs until Saturday, April 26th with a total of eight performances, the production is sure to delight audiences with a blend of stunning visuals, witty humour and magic.
This timeless tale gets a refreshing twist that’s set to the unforgettable music of Rodgers and Hammerstein, as well as a new book by playwright Douglas Carter Beane.

Daniel Lapp’s ‘Joy of Life’ concerts
The much-anticipated Joy of Life concerts, led by celebrated Canadian fiddler Daniel Lapp, return to the Alix Goolden Performance Hall at the Victoria Conservatory of Music this week!
The first performance took place on Friday, April 25th, and the second will be this Saturday, April 26th, with both concerts at 7:30 p.m.

Kiran Ahluwalia & Her Band led by Rez Abbasi
Check out Kiran Ahluwalia at Hermann’s Jazz Club this Sunday!
Ahluwalia is a two-time JUNO award-winning artist, whose open-hearted vocals and blend of traditional Indian music, West Africa Blues and Jazz have caught the global attention.
Her six-piece band includes electric guitar, tabla, drum kit, accordion/organ and electric bass, and she’ll be performing new music from new album, Comfort Food.

Khalsa Day Parade
Join the City of Victoria in their Khalsa Day Celebration and Parade!
It’s Vancouver Island’s biggest Vaisakhi celebration, and will take place in the Burnside Gorge neighbourhood.
The parade will begin on Cecelia Road at 10:30 a.m., then move to Napier Lane, Burnside Road, Alpha Street, Douglas Street (from Alpha to Finlayson), Finlayson Street (from Douglas to Jutland) and then Jutland Road (from Burnside to Cecelia).
The rest of the day’s activities will take place at Gurdwara Singh Sabha Victoria until 4 p.m.
