A Scotiabank branch in Sidney was closed early Monday afternoon after a robbery took place at the location.
While the exact time of the incident has not yet been confirmed, at least half a dozen police cruisers were spotted outside the branch on Beacon Avenue just before 3 p.m., with several officers seen inside conducting an investigation.
Notices were posted on all entrances to the building, stating the bank was closed for the day “due to a robbery/emergency situation.”

Victoria Buzz has reached out to Sidney/North Saanich RCMP for more information, including whether a suspect has been arrested.
According to bank staff, the branch is expected to reopen on Tuesday.
